Alfredo Corneliani, a pioneer in the Italian menswear sector, set up in Mantua a craft business making raincoats and overcoats in the 1930s. It was an immediate success, but production was halted by the start of the second World War.

Alfredo’s sons Claudio and Carlalberto went on to found Corneliani S.p.A., giving the company a size and an identity which have made it a global reference point for high-end menswear.

IN 1972 Corneliani expands into a larger factory, leaving behind the first factory in an abandoned Catholic church. The company then set up Corneliani USA Inc. in New York, to distribute its ranges throughout the US and Canada, in 1985.

Moving on to 1997 and Corneliani made its debut in Milan’s Via Montenapoleone, opening up an impressive single-brand store.

2008 marked their 50th anniversary. To mark the occasion, an exhibition of photographs and advertising campaigns was held in Florence, and a book was published. Not long after this, in 2010, Corneliani featured in their first fashion show as special guest at Pitti, Florence.

Having widened and expanded its horizons worldwide, the company launched a representative office in Shanghai, China, which became Corneliani Shanghai Ltd. in 2012 before continuing expansion by opening a new boutique in Seoul, in the Galleria Duty Free 63 in the heart of Korea’s capital.
